Note the report in column 2: "Japan Is Preparing To Attack Singapore, Rome Warns Britain"
(This report, based on a report from an Italian paper connected to Benito Mussolini, falsely claimed that Japan was going to attack Singapore soon. The prediction came true, but not until Feb. of 1942. It appears that this story was designed to keep Britain off balance.)
Also note the report in columns 4-5: Nazis Near End of Rope Says H. G. Wells, Arriving in U.S."
(Well known science fiction writer H. G. Wells may have been right about rockets and space travel, but wrong on the longevity of the Nazi regime.)
Also note the report in column 4: "Television Station To Be Established In Washington"
(The first television station for the nations capitol would be set up in a hotel.)
