Daily Event for September 24

Sept. 24, 1940 the French submarine Ajax was sunk by the HMS Fortune H-70 off Dakar. The submarine was en route to attack allied ships when detected by the crew of the Fortune. She was depth charged until she came to the surface and was then sunk by gunfire. I have no details about casualties.
