Daily Event for February 11

February 11, 1893: The White Star Liner Naronic sailed from Liverpool never to be seen again. Naronic was built by Harland & Wolff in 1892 as a livestock carrier but had some passenger accommodations added later. This would be her seventh crossing but, like the Titanic she would never arrive.

Naronic's disappearance is still a mystery however there are several clues to the disaster. Four bottles with messages washed up on shore, two on the US one off Ireland and one in England. How these bottles ended up on opposite sides of the ocean is still not fully understood. And there is debate as to weather the messages are genuine. To better understand the full story I have decided to add a link to a very good page for you to read.
