Even though the war was over U-boats were still dangerous, but now only to their crews. On Dec. 5, 1946 the ex U-2326, a type XXIII sank with the entire 26 man crew. The boat had surrendered at Dundee, Scotland on May 14, 1945 and was taken over by the British as N-35. In 1946 she was transferred to France under the U-2326 name. When she sank off Toulon she was undertaking tests for the French navy. I have no other details about the loss. |
