Daily Event for October 16


The loss of two ships, both on the Yangtze River, left over 1,500 dead. In 1926 an unnamed Chinese troop transport exploded killing over 1,200 and in 1939 the Japanese ship Hsin Ta Kou Maru sank taking over 300 with her.
